Buy back policy? They may be giving an insignificant discount when old computers are returned with purchase of new computers but I'm not sure about it.
There's also 3 year warranty plan which costs extra and that covers everything, even accidental drops by students. Basic warranty is 1 year. That's pretty much standard for all computer companies. Apple does have better than average phone tech support, which is unlimited for education. Dell or HP support is pretty bad.
When we lease computers from them for 3 years, at the end of the lease period we can buy them for a dollar :)

Thank you for contributing. I agree, looking at long range is also critical. Do you feel that laptops are less cost effective?
From the perspective of primary grade teachers do you feel that white Macbooks need to be replaced?
Yes, current software will be compatible. We actually have new version of Kidpix that would work perfectly on any new Mac. Kidspiration is also compatible everywhere and Pages may be more kid friendly than Word (although Word would most likely be installed)
